Sometimes the kiln gives us pleasant surprises. The fish tile you see is an example. The fiery base was unexpected, as was the beautiful haloing round the weed. We don’t know why it happened and would like to do it again…but how?
Exhibiting with fellow members of the Sussex Guild at Borde Hill last weekend was a happy occasion. We were well supported by our own customers, and because visitors had to book in advance, visitor numbers were steady but not overwhelming.
I do not plan to take further part in the big national craft shows- they are wearing, expensive, and at times dispiriting. We prefer to sell online, through galleries and at the exhibitions which we organise.
Small is beautiful.
